Mary Ann was integral in the development, growth and quality of the Pennsylvania Trauma Outcome Study (PTOS) for more than a decade. She was also a major factor in the development of the Pennsylvania Outcome Performance Improvement Measurement System (POPIMS). Mary Ann is currently the Director of the Joint Trauma System at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Distinguished Civilian Service Award is the highest recognition the Department of Defense can award an employee. LYNDSEY Congratulations to Lyndsey Diehl, Data Quality Specialist, for recently obtaining her CSTR certification. CSTR stands for Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries and is administered by the ATS. The CSTR represents a trauma registry and data expert who has demonstrated current competence in trauma registry. It establishes and measures a requisite of knowledge required for expertise in building, managing and enhancing trauma registry practice. Lyndsey is the first individual at the PTSF to obtain this certification. GABY Congratulations to Gaby Wenger, Trauma Registry Auditor, for recently obtaining CAISS certification. CAISS stands for Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist and it is administered by the AAAM. Certification indicates a high level of competence in AIS coding and will enable PTSF to provide a higher level of injury coding support to Pennsylvania’s registrars. Gaby is the first individual at the PTSF to obtain this certification. Call for Speakers! Share your trauma registry expertise with the state at the PaCOT/PTSF Fall Conference! The 21st Annual PaCOT/ PTSF Conference & Meeting will take place October 30 – November 1, 2017 at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel. The Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) registry staff would like to invite those interested in speaking/presenting a registry topic at the PTSF joint conference with the Pennsylvania Committee on Trauma (PaCOT) to submit a topic.
